Wine, beer, spirits etc
Exmoor House is licensed to serve alcohol to resident guests, and to
non-residents who are having a full meal with us. We have a good selection of
wines, local beers, ciders and also spirits, fortified wines and liqueurs. Visitors
are asked not to consume alcohol on the premises that they have bought elsewhere.
Corkage fee is £10 per bottle.
Peace & quiet
For a restful, 'get-away-from-it-all' stay, we've taken the decision
not to have TVs in guest bedrooms or the guest sitting room. You'll find a good
selection of books and games, which you're welcome to make use of during your
stay. Please note also, that most mobile phones don't work here. If you can get
a signal, we'd be grateful if you'd keep your mobile switched off when in the
dining room or guest sitting room. There is a cash payphone in the hall, and the
village public payphone (credit card only) a short walk away.
Bank Holidays
Please note that one-night stays are not normally available
over Bank Holiday weekends and may not be available at certain other times.
Single occupancy of a room
We regret we do not have any single rooms at
Exmoor House. There is therefore a £22.50 per night single supplement for
sole occupancy of a double room (or in other words a discount off the full room
rate for two people) - subject to availability.
Children
Children are welcome. The tariff for children
aged under 12, sharing a family room with parents or other responsible
adults, is £22.50 per child per night for bed and breakfast (other meals
are charged for separately). No charge for babies if you bring your own travel
cot; there is a small charge for borrowing our cot.
Out of consideration for other guests, we prefer not to have very young children
in the dining room in the evening. High teas, served earlier, are available for
children at a cost of £7.00 each.
