Tennis at 1,000 feet

Ever played tennis at 1,000 feet (and in a National Park too)? Now you can do just that a few yards from Exmoor House, at Wheddon Cross village's very own all-weather court. For a paltry one pound per person per hour, Exmoor House guests can receive serve while admiring the sun set behind Dunkery Beacon... volley to the sound of cattle gently lowing... etc etc. Never mind Flushing Meadow, this really is tennis as nature intended.

You might like to fit in a game before dinner (or, if you're feeling particularly energetic in the morning, before breakfast).

So if you think there will be anyone for tennis during your stay at Exmoor House, you just need to remember to bring tennis balls, raquets and appropriate footwear with you.

The money goes towards the upkeep of the court, by the way.

Summer on Exmoor

July, August and September are the season of festivals and fairs, so if you're visiting Exmoor in the next couple of months, why not join in the festivities? Visit our events page for some ideas.

But if it's peace and tranquillity you're after, then Exmoor National Park has that in abundance, too.
